Luma Landscapes

Toorak

This landscape design project in Toorak encountered the hurdle of a large slope spanning from the front to the back of the property. Our aim was to craft a functional garden that would address this challenge.

We utilised contemporary landscape design principles to construct a sunken pool that integrated with the natural slope, seamlessly blending into the surrounding terrain. We also incorporated a cosy entertaining area and fire pit to enhance the functionality and appeal of the space.

Features

Functional and Visually Stunning Pool

The innovative design of the pool took advantage of the sloping terrain by partially exposing one side of the pool above the ground, eliminating the need for a pool fence on that side, providing unobstructed views of the adjacent tennis court.

Entertaining Area and Fire Pit

Recognising the importance of social gatherings and outdoor entertainment, the design included an inviting entertaining area and a dedicated fire pit. These features were strategically positioned to optimise functionality and create a cosy atmosphere for gatherings and relaxation. The careful selection of materials and furnishings contributed to a contemporary aesthetic that harmonised with the overall design.

Front Garden Transformation

Despite the limited space in the front garden, we worked to design a visually appealing landscape entrance. Stepping stones were incorporated, allowing for easy navigation and adding a sense of intrigue. The gaps between the stepping stones were planted with dichondra ground cover, adding texture and softness to the design. A beautiful bronze art piece served as a captivating focal point, enhancing the overall visual impact of the front garden.
